Drew Amendola is an emerging guitarist and composer of contemporary jazz music. He has performed throughout the United States in jazz, rock, and country projects.
He has studied privately with John Hart, Marc Mommaas, and Rodney Jones. His musical style encompasses a broad range of influences including jazz, classical, and popular styles.
Drew has over twenty years teaching experience in the areas of guitar, composition, theory, ear training, and jazz history. Additionally, he has provided private tutoring and advice for students preparing to apply to, or begin study at college music programs.
Drew holds degrees in classical composition from the Hartt School of Music, and the Vermont College of Fine Arts. He is currently a doctoral student in the Jazz Performance Program at the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami.
Students must be at least 12 years old and have their own guitar. Choice of text will be based upon the student’s individual needs and interests.
