Dr. Nicole Gillotti enjoys a versatile career as a freelance trumpeter and educator. She currently serves on faculty at Texas A&M International University, teaching applied trumpet, brass ensemble, music appreciation, and brass methods. An active chamber
musician, Nicole can be heard performing with Hint of Lime Brass, a brass trio that advocates for the performance and creation of new music. She has also performed with the University of Illinois Graduate Brass Quintet, Illinois State University Faculty Brass Quintet, Transit Brass Octet, and Illinois Consortium Quintet. As an orchestra musician, she has performed with numerous organizations across the country, including Laredo Philharmonic, Valley Symphony (McAllen, TX), Champaign-Urbana
Symphony (IL), Millikin-Decatur Symphony, University of Illinois Symphony Orchestra, and Berks Sinfonietta (PA). Dr. Gillotti has performed at conferences, festivals, and competitions throughout the United States and Europe, including National Trumpet
Competition in 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2018, and Orvieto Musica Trumpetfest in Orvieto, Italy in 2013, 2015, and 2017. In Summer 2019, she served as orchestra principal trumpet and Resident Artist Fellow at Atlantic Music Festival in Waterville, ME. Dr. Gillotti holds a D.M.A from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign,
M.M. from Illinois State University, and B.S.Ed. from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Nicole is experienced with all levels and abilities in playing classical trumpet. She aims to create individual lesson plans to need the student’s needs and goals, and show students how to maximize efficiency in their practice sessions to build confidence and consistency in their playing!
